Screening: Radioactive Wolves - Wildlife in the Dead Zone Around the Chernobyl Disaster
Session Duration: 1.5 hrs

There have been reports of wolves in the dead zone around Chernobyl. Are the wolves moving in from elsewhere and dying, or are they reproducing in this environment?

This documentary, which was made for the Nature TV series, follows scientists and naturalists who enter the dead zone and observe the effects of radiation on the wildlife.  It includes rare footage of the modern 'red forest' and the abandoned villages & cities near the reactor.

The movie is under an hour and the remaining time will be spent in an open discussion about the movie with lecturer Richard W. Smith.
